Mindfulness Classes
Improve the quality of your work and personal life by learning this stress reducing technique.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is designed for, and can be especially helpful to those who experience: anxiety and depression, chronic pain and illness, cardiac disease, the demands of caregiving, life threatening illness, grief, spiritual emptiness and difficulty finding balance in current cultural lifestyles.
Mind/body approaches work because they go beyond the physical to address the framework of attitudes and behaviors that surround health. They deal with the cycle of stress, anxiety, physical tension, symptoms, and disease. They teach individuals to break old harmful patterns and develop positive attitudes and healthy behaviors.
Research studies on mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) show it can reduce chronic pain, high blood pressure, serum cholesterol levels, blood cortisol, and alleviates depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and eating disorders.
MBSR can also change the way emotions are regulated in the prefrontal cortex and alter the immune response to an influenza vaccine.
Mindfulness has been referred to as 'The Art of Living' and really is one of the most powerful tools available for personal growth and for cultivating a better life.
Class Instructor: Lou Carcasole, B.Sc, M.B.A, M.Ed
