Nia is a sensory-based movement activity, celebrating the harmony of body, mind and spirit expressed through the joy of movement.

Nia incorporates philosophy and body movements of the most advanced Eastern and Western arts, including dance, martial and healing arts. It is based on joy, empowerment, self-awareness, mental clarity, emotion balancing, self-harmonization, and self-healing!

Nia is designed for everyone! You do not need to have any experience in dance, fitness or martial arts to enjoy Nia and benefit from it. There are three levels of intensity in Nia dance, so that you can jump and dance in whatever way your body chooses.

It is ageless and limitless, transformational and effective for all people everywhere, from athletes, dancers and fitness instructors, to children, special needs groups and the elderly.

During this session, we will dance together, laugh together and build a connection with each other, our inner self and the world around.

The classes will be facilitated by Jane Markowitz, Nia Black Belt holder.

The Art of Nia Dance with Jane:

Jane has 40 years of experience teaching dance and movement, including 20 years teaching Nia.

Most recently Jane has mastered the "Moving To Heal" Nia technique.

Her specialty areas include:

- Meditative Nia.

- Nia, Yoga, and Gentle Fitness for fragile and aging bodies.

We are VERY happy to have Jane as an instructor and hope to see you at our classes!
